Young Farmers: Session 2

Does everyone in our city or even our state have access to healthy affordable food? Is it simply an issue of financial ability or is it more complex?  Welcome staff from the Centre Street Food Pantry, learn about the work of other food access organizations in our area, help with the weekly pick up of our donated produce, and take a closer look at how urban planning shapes access to food; how much land in Newton is zoned for the growing of food? In this community focused week reflect on these fundamental issues as we work in the field with farm staff care for the chickens, prepare and enjoy a range of healthy seasonal dishes and recognize your potential to be the change you want to see in the world.
