August 26 - August 30: Organic - what does it really mean?

Program meets Monday - Friday 8:30AM - 1:00PM at Newton Community Farm, 303 Nahanton Street

In this new program, campers will have a chance to work in a mixed age group on projects in the learning garden, with our farm animals and in the barn kitchen. This week we tackle the word "organic" and what it really means. What's the difference between organic practices and being certified organic? What do organic methods mean for how we manage weeds, pests, and our soil? and what is the impact on the environment and the final product that we use in our kitchens?
